Bonolact® Baby drops contains a live, lyophilized bacterial strain of human origin: Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG®, whose natural habitat is the human body. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG® is a lactic acid bacterium with a well-studied and diverse research background that complements the intestinal flora well in infants and children.
Lactic acid bacteria, along with other bacteria, are natural components of the intestinal flora. Microorganisms that are able to colonize the human body, occur naturally in the human small intestine and especially the large intestine.
The composition of the intestinal flora is constantly renewed. The change in the number of intestinal bacteria is a natural process that primarily depends on the composition of the food consumed, age, the presence of nutrients necessary for the growth of intestinal bacteria, the condition of the intestinal tract, pH conditions, and lifestyle.
The balance of the intestinal flora can be influenced by many factors, such as intestinal infections (travel, viral infections), changes due to certain drug treatments (e.g. antibiotics), temporary or chronic nutritional disorders, or disruption of the body’s normal biorhythms.
The Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG® live flora cells contained in Bonolact® Baby drops undergo a lyophilization process, i.e. freeze-drying. This widely used manufacturing process ensures the stability of the bacterial cells during storage, so that they retain their viability until the expiration date indicated on the product box.
